Welcome to Chroma Gather
Your Comprehensive Guide to Glass Colors
Created by glassblowers for glassblowers, this community resource is for exchanging knowledge and inspiring creativity.
This site grew out of a straightforward need: as glass artists, we (Sue Kim and Zeke Spier) wanted a dependable place to reference and share information about glass color. So much of this knowledge is learned the hard (and expensive) way through trial and error, and even the information that has been shared is buried in threads across multiple platforms. Searching for the perfect color often involves searching multiple clunky manufacturer and retailer websites. Chroma Gather is meant to bring all the information together.
Glass knowledge used to be closely protected. There is a long legacy of privacy and gatekeeping that has gradually been shifting. Glassblowers are no longer thriving based on secrets, but because of skill and creativity. More than ever artists are happy to share techniques, and it is possible to find high level instruction through online demonstrations and tutorials. We want to bring glass color knowledge into this modern, open era.
We hope this becomes a community resource that experienced glassblowers and students alike will take the time to invest in. It will get better with time as more knowledge is shared. Unlike many social media platforms, we do not claim ownership over information submitted by users, and accessing the information will always be free. For more detailed information about how data is handled, please refer to the Privacy Policy (in the site footer).
Thank you for being part of our community and let us know if you have ideas or feedback.
